We are a social enterprise organisation based in the United Kingdom with a broad range of experience in building organisational capability to effectively manage disasters. Through our partner network in the United Kingdom and across Africa, we can equip any organisation with the tools they need to reduce the impacts of disaster and to respond and recover quickly and effectively.
We help UK based emergency services and International Humanitarian organisations to build their capacity to plan and respond to Major disasters in the UK and Africa.
Our experts have personal experience of the human, social and economic devastation of disasters and conflict, particularly in Africa. Therefore, we passionately believe in improving the welfare of the people and environment in Africa. Our team are an expert in the methodologies used in the UK and across Europe and we can bring world leading expertise to Africa.

Amoros Ruhumliza
Founder and Director
Amoros Ruhumuliza is a holder of a master’s degree in Conflict Governance and International Development from the University of East Anglia (UK), and of a BSc Honours degree in Disaster Reconstruction and Development from Coventry University (UK).
Amoros Ruhumuliza is currently an established professional trainer in Leadership Management Skills designed towards the management of a major incident crisis. He provides expert consultant’s services to a variety of emergency service – based organisations based not only in the UK but across the world, with a special focus on Africa.
In the past, he has worked for a number of organisations providing critical social care and support services to the British communities as a whole. Among others, he worked for the British Red Cross in Norwich, the Norfolk Centre for Social Development in Norwich and for the Norfolk Safety Community Interest Company. Furthermore, he worked for the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in the transport and logistics sector.
Mr Amoros Ruhumuliza therefore possesses established expert knowledge as well as technical skills in the field of emergency crisis management gained through numerous years of training, field practice and exposure on field.

Senior Consultant
Waldo possesses more than 8 – years work experience in the area of Business Continuity Management, organisational Crisis Management and Emergency Planning. He acquired most of his work experience predominantly in the Telecommunications Sector as well as the Local Public Authorities in the UK.
Currently, he is responsible for managing Business Continuity operations in Europe and the US and China for a global telecommunications provider

Renske van der Wal
Consultant
Renske van der Wal holds a MA in International Relations and Development from the University of East Anglia in the UK, as well as a BA in Language and Culture Studies from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
Renske currently works as a researcher and consultant for our organisation, focusing on the overlap between sustainable development and disaster risk reduction strategies. Further areas of research include innovation in disaster management and international guidelines. In addition, she is a writer and editor of policy and strategy documentation. Renske is also an advisor on general sustainability measures and waste management systems in the context of emergency planning, response and recovery.
Renske has got varied professional experience in the field of Humanitarian Affairs. Through her work in India, Nepal and Ethiopia, she developed a broad understanding of developmental contexts, challenges and difficulties concerning disasters. She worked to promote sustainable waste management practices in various communities. These experiences taught her about the distance between global goals such as sustainability and resilience, and local capacity, priorities and challenges. Continuing in this vein, she worked as Policy Officer of Humanitarian Affairs on the humanitarian and political portfolio for the Embassy of the Netherlands in Ehiopia.
As part of ACDM, Renske is the resource focal person for sustainability, resilience and disaster preparedness in a developmental context. She is also the advisor for alignement to international standards such as the Sendai framework.

Abdul-Razak Yakubu
Consultant
Development Consultant with a special interest in Politics, Development Perspectives, Conflict Peace and Security, Good Governance, Political Economy Analysis, International Affairs, Rural Politics and Policies.
Abdul has MSc degree from the School of International Development (DEV), University of East Anglia Norwich in the UK. His also holds first degree in Business Administration from Wisconsin International University College of Ghana and a Diploma in Business Studies from University of Professional Studies (UPSA) Ghana. Mr Yakubu has over ten (10) years of experience in providing political Economy Analysis and conducting high profile research in the business environment for both local, International businesses, multi-national organisations, foreign governments, and individuals looking to invest in Ghana and in Africa.
Abdul is member of Rotary International and a philanthropist involved in many humanitarian activities in Ghana and abroad. He is also the former President of the Chevening Alumni Association of Ghana; a UK government funded scholarship targeted at young leaders globally with a population of about 65,000 members. Abdul is keen on project Ghana as the right place for investment in Africa and has been working with both the government and the private sector to make this a reality. As a Pan-African he is keen on inter-African trade and willing to establish strong business relationships with colleagues within the African continent and African leaders in business globally.

Prince Komla Bansah
Consultant
Prince has expertise in climate change, environmental governance, resource governance, and environmental policymaking in gold mining and communities.
He is also a PhD researcher in School of Social and Political Science – University of Lincoln.
